Although the Central Government runs many types of schemes, which include many other schemes like housing, pension, employment, education and insurance. Similarly, by running the Ayushman Bharat scheme, people are also given the facility of free treatment. Many people are currently taking advantage of this scheme which was started in the year 2018. People are also getting their treatment free through Ayushman card. In such a situation, it becomes important for you to know that if you have an Ayushman card, then no hospital registered in the scheme can refuse to treat you. What benefits are available?
Actually, under the Ayushman scheme, Ayushman cards are first made for the eligible people. After this, the cardholder can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in the listed hospitals, the entire cost of which is borne by the government.
These facilities are:-
Hospital medicine
operative procedures
General Medical Facility
General surgical services
Neuro therapy
Maternal and child health facilities etc.
Hospital cannot refuse
Under the government rules, Ayushman card holders can get their treatment free of cost in the empaneled hospitals and the hospitals cannot refuse to treat them. If any hospital does this, action can be taken against it.
At the same time, if you want, you can complain about the hospital by calling the national toll free number 14555.
At the same time, there are toll free numbers for different states also, like for UP it is 180018004444.
Similarly, for Uttarakhand there are toll free numbers 18001805368 and 155468.
