People living in rented houses in other cities often face problems in updating their Aadhaar. To update Aadhaar, they have to provide the address proof of that city. But while facing this problem, many people must have a question in their mind can we update our Aadhaar based on the landlord's address?

The Unique Identification Authority of India has created a new process for updating the addresses of tenants. Through this, you can update the Aadhaar card using the rent agreement or electricity bill. Your name on this rent agreement should be the same as on your Aadhaar card.

Can the address be changed on the electricity bill?

To change your address on the Aadhaar card, the landlord's electricity bill can work only when you have a rent agreement for that house. To change the address in their Aadhaar, tenants can change the address on the Aadhaar card by getting a rent agreement based on the current landlord's electricity bill. If you do not have a rent agreement, then you can update your Aadhaar card based on any document from the landlord.

This is the complete process

First of all, you have to take the Aadhaar update form from the Aadhaar center, after this, you have to fill in all the necessary information and give it to the concerned person. After this, you have to assure the concerned person at the Aadhaar center by giving necessary documents like an Aadhaar card, PAN card, rent agreement with rental details, voter ID card, or a copy of the passport. Based on this, you can get any kind of update done on your Aadhaar card.

This is the online mode

For this, you have to go to the UIDAI website and register yourself. After this, you will get an online form that you have to fill out and submit along with the necessary documents at the nearest Aadhaar center, if you can submit it online yourself, then this is also possible. After this, you will be asked for your fingerprint and eye scan. After all this, you have to enter the OTP which is mandatory to be registered with your Aadhaar number. Within 10 days of this process, your updated Aadhaar card will be given to you online.
