Aadhaar card is used for identification for the people of India. This is an important document for the countrymen. Without this, many government and private projects cannot be completed. Aadhaar number contains information including a person's biometric data, name, home address, and gender. It is used as ID proof. If there is any old information on your Aadhaar card and you have not updated it, then much of your work may get stuck.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of fraud if Aadhaar is not updated with new information. Given this, the Central Government was asked to update the 10-year-old card. UIDAI is providing the facility for people to update their Aadhar cards for free. If your Aadhaar is 10 years old, then update it immediately.

A notification was issued by the government to update the Aadhaar card. If you also want to update your Aadhaar card, you can do it by visiting the UIDAI website or the Aadhaar center. There will be no charge for this. The last date to update your Aadhaar card for free is 14th December.

Aadhar card can be updated both online and offline. There are many tasks that cannot be done online. For this, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center or CSC center. If you book an appointment online, you can avoid long lines. Appointments can be booked from the official website of UIDAI.

UIDAI charges a fee for updating some things, but till December 14, 2023, these things can be updated for free.

There is a charge of Rs 100 for updating biometric data in Aadhaar of any person above 5 years, 15 years, and 17 years, while Rs 50 is charged for demographic data. It costs Rs 30 for color print, Rs 25 for updating identity and address documents, and Rs 50 for updating PIN-based address.
