The Punjab Kings team lost in Hyderabad after winning two consecutive matches. His winning streak was stopped by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Seeing the players of Punjab who played with full power in two matches, it seemed that they did not come on the field to win. Poor shot selection, lethargic fielding, and shoddy bowling cost the team dearly.

Punjab batsmen put up an embarrassing performance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Shikhar Dhawan's innings took him to 143 runs, otherwise, the team would have been reduced to within 100 runs. Nine batsmen of Punjab could not even touch double figures. Dhawan started the innings and stayed till the end. He missed out on a century. He scored an unbeaten 99 off 66 balls. During this, he hit 12 fours and five sixes. Dhawan's strike rate was 150.

Dhawan has captained Hyderabad
Dhawan has scored 225 runs in three matches in the season. He is the highest run scorer to date. He has previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and has also captained the team. He fought alone against his old team.

Middle order disappointed the most
Middle-order batsmen Jitesh Sharma, Sam Karan, and Sikandar Raza disappointed Punjab the most. Jitesh played some good innings last year. For this reason, he also reached Team India. This time he failed to make an impact. Jitesh could score only four runs. England all-rounder Sam Karan is the costliest player in this IPL. He was bought by Punjab for Rs 18.50.

Sam Karan lost his wicket after starting well and could only score 22 runs. Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, who performed amazingly in the T20 World Cup last year, could only score five runs. Tamil Nadu's explosive batsman Shah Rukh Khan could get only four runs off his bat. If Prabhsimran could not open the account in the top order, then debutant Matthew Shirt could score only one run.
