Shikhar Dhawan's bat thundered again after a month. He tore apart the bowlers of Kolkata Knight Riders in the 53rd match of IPL 2023. Punjab Kings captain Dhawan hit Fifty in 41 balls. This is his third fifty of this season. It is also interesting that in 40 balls, Dhawan scored 48 runs by hitting 9 fours. Not a single six came out of his bat, but he completed his fifty by hitting a six off Sunil Narine.
Dhawan had put in his second fifty of the season a month ago. He had hit 2 consecutive half-centuries. He was unbeaten on 99 against Sunrajers Hyderabad. After an inning of 99 runs, his form got derailed a bit. Not only this but due to being unfit, he could not even play some matches. When he returned, he could not reach above 30 runs in 3 matches. Now, ending the wait, he hit a half-century.

Rana hunted Dhawan
Although Dhawan could not stay on the field for long after the completion of Fifty. Nitish fell victim to Rana in the next over. Dhawan was caught by Vaibhav Arora on Rana's ball near the boundary at long-on. The Punjab captain had to return to the pavilion after scoring 57 runs off 47 balls. He hit 9 fours and a six in his innings.
Responsibility for Dhawan's shoulder
Dhawan has taken care of Punjab's batting. Opener Prabhsimran Singh is continuously flopping. In the middle order too, Livingston and Jitesh Sharma played one or two good innings, but apart from them, no other batsman is able to play.
