Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran created history by scoring his maiden IPL hundred off 61 balls. This hundred came from his bat in the 58th match of IPL 2023 against Delhi Capitals. He is the second Indian cricketer to score a century this season. With this, he became the 12th batsman to score a century for Punjab.

The Punjab team, who came out to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, did not get off to a good start. Ishant Sharma got Shikhar Dhawan out first and gave the Punjab team a big shock. Then the explosive batsman Liam Livingstone also got out after scoring 4 runs. Jitesh Sharma's bat did nothing spectacular today and he could only add 5 runs to his wicket. It seemed that the Punjab team would probably score less.

But Punjab's young right-handed batsman Pravasimran continued to bat explosively at one end. He completed his half-century in 42 balls, after which he hit consecutive balls from Praveen Dubey, Ishant Sharma, and Kuldeep Jadhav to bring up his maiden IPL century in 61 balls. He achieved this feat by hitting Khalil Ahmed for a boundary in the fourth ball of the 18th over.

However, he was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar in the next over. In this historic innings, he hit 10 fours and 6 sixes in 65 balls. On the basis of his innings, Punjab lost 7 wickets and collected 167 runs, while Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets for Delhi. Apart from them, Akshar Patel, Praveen, Kuldeep, and Mukesh took one wicket each.
