New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings have called Mumbai's 17-year-old batsman Ayush Mhatre for trials ahead of the IPL auction. Mhatre has recently performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy, in which he has also scored a century. Former Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the team's scouts have been impressed with Mhatre's performance. CSK has requested the Mumbai Cricket Association to allow Mhatre for trials. Playing against Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy, Mhatre played a brilliant innings of 176 runs. This is also his highest score in first-class cricket.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has written an email to MCA secretary Abhay Hadap requesting permission for Mhatre for trials. The email reads, 'CSK's selection trials will be held from November 17 to November 22, 2023 at CSKHPC Navalur ground in Chennai. We request the MCA to allow Ayush Mhatre to participate in the trials.'
