Govinda was shot in an accident on Tuesday morning when he was cleaning his licensed revolver. The incident happened at 4:45 am when Govinda was preparing to go to Kolkata. Unfortunately, the revolver slipped from his hand and misfired, causing the bullet to hit his knee. Soon after the incident, he was admitted to Critical Care Hospital in critical condition, where he has been kept in the ICU.

Accident while cleaning revolver

As soon as the police got information about the incident, they immediately reached the spot and started investigating the case. According to the information, Govinda was cleaning his licensed revolver and was preparing to keep it in the cupboard when this incident happened. Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha told the media that it was an accident in which the revolver fell from his hand and misfired, causing a bullet to hit his leg. At present, his condition is said to be stable and the bullet has been removed from his leg.

Family's reaction and hospital information

Govinda's wife Sunita was not at home at that time as she was in Kolkata. When she got to know about the accident, she immediately left for Mumbai and is expected to reach the hospital soon. Govinda's daughter Tina is currently with him in the hospital. Govinda himself called his manager and informed him about the accident.

Govinda said, "With the blessings of all of you and the blessings of Baba Bhole and the grace of Guru, the bullet that hit me has come out. I thank Dr. Agarwal and also thank all of you for praying for me." Govinda's statement came in the form of audio, which was released by Govinda's close friend, former MLA and spokesperson of Shiv Sena Shinde faction Krishna Hegde. From Govinda's voice in his audio message, it can be guessed that his condition was very serious.
