9 international and 9 IPL matches in Indore so far

So far 9 international matches have been played at Holkar Stadium in Indore and the same number of IPL matches have also been held. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the IPL 2025 schedule on February 16. This time the IPL will start from March 22 and the final will be played on May 25 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

There was a controversy over ticket distribution in Indore

In 2017, Kings XI Punjab made Indore's Holkar Stadium its home ground. 8 IPL matches have been played on this ground from 2011 to 2018. In the year 2018, it distanced itself from Holkar Stadium due to the free passes controversy. After which no franchise turned towards Holkar Stadium. Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings owner Preity Zinta had expressed her displeasure over the free pass. Along with this, Preity also accused the Indore administration and police of harassing her for ticket passes.

This time 74 matches of IPL will be played in 13 cities

According to the schedule of IPL 2025, this time 74 matches will be played in 13 cities. It includes 12 double headers (2 matches on the same day, in the same stadium). The afternoon match will start at 3:30 pm and the evening match will start at 7:30 pm. The first match will be played between defending champions KKR and RCB at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The final match will be held in Kolkata on May 25.
