UP Assistant Professor Recruitment Exam Begins Tomorrow: Heavy Security and Magistrates Deployed Across 6 Districts

The recruitment exam for the post of Assistant Professor (Assistant Acharya) in Uttar Pradesh will begin tomorrow, April 16, and continue on April 17. The examination will be held in two shifts each day across 52 centers in six major districtsAgra, Meerut, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi.

CM Yogi's Strict Instructions on Fairness

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued firm instructions to ensure that no unfair practices take place during the recruitment process. In line with his commitment to clean and transparent recruitments, sector magistrates and static magistrates are being stationed at every exam center. District Magistrates have been directed to deploy fully armed police forces, with authority to impose Section 144 (prohibitory orders) if required.

Secure Movement of Confidential Material

Special arrangements have been made for the secure transport of confidential exam materials from the treasury to the commission office. This step underscores the seriousness of the state government’s efforts to ensure cheat-free examinations.

District-Wise Candidate Distribution

A total of 82,876 candidates will appear for this recruitment exam. Here is the district-wise breakdown:

  • Prayagraj: 18,240 candidates
  • Meerut: 16,010 candidates
  • Gorakhpur: 15,602 candidates
  • Lucknow: 13,528 candidates
  • Varanasi: 10,958 candidates
  • Agra: 8,538 candidates

Examination Centers:

  • Meerut, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur: 10 centers each
  • Lucknow: 9 centers
  • Varanasi: 7 centers
  • Agra: 6 centers

Recruitment for 1017 Posts

This written examination is being held to fill 1017 Assistant Professor posts across 33 subjects. Candidates who qualify in the exam will proceed to the next stage of the selection process. The application window for this recruitment was open from July 9 to August 29, 2022.

According to officials, the exam will be conducted under the joint monitoring of the Public Service Commission and the district administration. Commission chairpersons, district supervisors, and center administrators will ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exam.
