If reports are to be believed, the findings based on honeymoon package bookings from October 2023 to September 2024 reflect significant changes in travel trends, with Thailand now gaining a larger market share than the Maldives.
Thailand overtook Maldives:
Thailand's honeymoon package bookings saw a strong growth of 5.2% year-on-year, overtaking the Maldives, which previously held the top spot.
Other international destinations see a rise in popularity:
Apart from Thailand, other international destinations such as Indonesia, Mauritius and Vietnam also witnessed a rise in honeymoon bookings, reflecting a shift towards diverse honeymoon experiences.
Domestic travel trends:
In India, Andaman has emerged as the most booked honeymoon destination, surpassing Kerala. Bookings for Andaman grew by 6.9% year-on-year. Kashmir also saw a rise in popularity, with bookings rising by 3.6%, making it the third most booked domestic destination.
