The festival of Shravan month is going on. Shiva is specially worshipped in the month of Sawan. Festivals like Sawan Shivratri, Hariyali Teej and Nagpanchami are celebrated this month which are related to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Hariyali Teej is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month. It is believed that Mother Parvati did rigorous penance for a long time to get Mahadev as her husband. Bholenath accepted the penance of Mother Parvati on this date.
This year Hariyali Teej is being celebrated on 7th August. On the occasion of Hariyali Teej, go to visit the temples of Shiva Parvati. If husband and wife worship on this day with the wish of a happy married life and unmarried girls wish for a desired life partner, then their wish can definitely be fulfilled.
Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Ujjain
Mahakaleshwar Dham is one of the most famous Shiva temples in India in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. Mahakal Baba, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is seated in this temple. This is the only Jyotirlinga where Bhasma Aarti is performed in the morning. You can come here for darshan on the occasion of Hariyali Teej and Nagpanchami.
Gola Gokarnanath, Lakhimpur Kheri
The ancient temple of Lord Shiva, Gola Gokarnanath, is located in Gola tehsil in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. It is also called Chota Kashi. It is believed that when Lankapati King Ravana was going to Lanka with Lord Shiva, he kept Bholenath at this place, later he could not even move the Shivling from the ground. In anger, Ravana pressed the Shivling with his thumb. Even today, there is a mark of Ravana's thumb on the Shivling located here.
Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Banaras
On the occasion of Hariyali Teej, it would be a better option to go to Banaras, the favorite city of Lord Shiva. Banaras is called Kashi or Varanasi, where Baba Vishwanath is seated. In Banaras, there is a temple of Kashi Vishwanath as the seventh Jyotirlinga on the western ghat of the river Ganges. It is believed that this city rests on the trident of Lord Shiva. There can be a lot of crowd in Kashi Vishwanath temple on the occasion of Hariyali Teej or Nagpanchami.
Garh Mukteshwar Dham
Garh Mukteshwar Dham is located on the banks of the river Ganges in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The ancient Shivalinga Karkhandeshwar and Mukteshwar Mahadev temple are located here. It is believed that Parashuram established the temple of Lord Shiva in Garhmukteshwar. This place is considered to be the main center of the Vallabh sect. Here too there is a lot of crowd during the Garh fair and devotees come from far and wide for darshan.
