History is linked to Mahabharata period

Many people are not aware that the history of Kanpur's Paramat temple is linked to the Mahabharata period. It is said that Danveer Karna used to come to worship in this temple. Ganga river also flows near this temple, so he used to first take a bath in the Ganga river, and only after that, he used to worship Mahadev.

The special thing was that only Karna knew about this Shivling. After taking a bath in Ganga, Karna used to worship Mahadev secretly and then used to disappear.

One day a cow named Anandi saw him worshiping here. After that Anandi cow used to come every day and leave all her milk there. When that place was excavated by the villagers, this Shivling came out from there, after which Shivling was installed at the same place. After finding Shivling, that cow also stopped pouring her milk there. For this reason, this temple was named Anandeshwar.

Every wish is fulfilled by darshan

Earlier this temple was situated on a hill, but now this temple has become very grand. Here, along with Shivling, idols of Vihnaharta Ganpati Maharaj, Sankatmochan Hanuman Ji, Shri Hari Vishnu Bhagwan, and all the gods and goddesses are present.

It is believed that all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled by the darshan of Anandeshwar Baba in Sawan. Baba is happy by offering Ganga water and Bel leaves. In such a situation, people come to the Paramat temple of Kanpur from far away places to have a darshan of Baba.
