This temple is situated along the river Ganga. This temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Kashi Vishwanath Temple has a special place in Hindu religion and it is a temple many thousands of years old. According to a belief, one attains salvation by taking a bath in the river Ganga and having the darshan of Lord Shiva in this temple. Reading our history, we came to know that Ahilyabai Holkar built the Kashi Vishwanath Temple on which Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab built a golden canopy. Queen Baijabai of Gwalior built the pavilion of Gyanvapi and Maharaja Nepal installed the huge Nandi statue there. Ganga River

Dashashwamedh Ghat
Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the ghats situated on the banks of the river Ganga in Banaras, It is considered to be the oldest ghat and also the most beautiful. Dashashvamedha means the sacrifice of ten horses. According to a belief, a huge yagya was performed here and ten horses were sacrificed. Out of the 88 ghats of Varanasi, five ghats are considered the most sacred. These five ghats are Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Adikeshav Ghat, Panchganga Ghat, and Manikarnika Ghat. These ghats are collectively called ‘Panchtirtha’.

Assi Ghat Assi Ghat
This is the same ghat where the Assi River and Ganga River meet. According to a legend, Mother Durga, after killing the demon Shumbha-Nishumbh with her sword, threw that sword here due to which the river Assi came into existence. There is a huge Peepal tree on this ghat, under which there is a Shivalinga of Lord Shiva and a temple of Lord Assingameshwara, which many devotees come to visit.

Manikarnika Ghat Manikarnika Ghat
It is said that after a person dies, he is born again and this cycle of birth and death continues forever. To get freedom from this cycle of birth and death, the soul needs to get salvation. In Hindu religion, Manikarnika Ghat is a place of salvation for Hindus. The belief is that after death, the soul of the person whose body is burnt at Manikarnika Ghat gets salvation and also gets freed from the cycle of birth and death forever. The fire of the pyre at this ghat never subsides, every time some dead body is being cremated.

Dhamek Stupa
Dhamekh Stupa is located in Sarnath, Varanasi. This stupa was built during the time of Emperor Ashoka. It is believed that Dhamekh Stupa located in Deer Park is the place where Mahatma Buddha gave his first sermon to his disciples. Dhamek Stupa looks like a solid circular turret. Its diameter is 28.35 meters (93 feet) and its height is 39.01 meters (143 feet).
