Forest
Tourists reach Manali Sanctuary for capping. This sanctuary is 31.8 square km. It is spread over the area of Manali which is the main attraction center of Manali. This century was inaugurated on 26 February 1954. This sanctuary was opened under the Punjab Bird and Wild Animals Protection Act, of 1933. There are many types of birds and animals in this sanctuary which are quite rare in the country and are not commonly seen. Tourists come here and see Kashmir flying squirrels, Himalayan black bears, flying foxes, and Himalayan yellow-throated.

If you are fond of riding a bike, then you can rent a bike in Manali and visit Rohtang Pass. This pass remains open from June to October. Even after the pass is closed, you can still visit Gulaba which is situated at a distance of 50 km from Manali.

The nearest railway stations to Manali are Chandigarh, Pathankot, and Kalka, where you can reach by train from any corner of the country. Manali is located at a distance of 305 km from Chandigarh Railway Station, 293 km from Pathankot, and 277 km from Kalka.

Its nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar. After reaching Chandigarh or Delhi by train, bus is available to Manali. The distance from Chandigarh to Manali is 309 kilometers. Bhantur airport is near Manali.
