Preparations for Navratri are in full swing. During this festival, devotees indulge in the worship of various forms of the Goddess, from Kalash Sthapana to Kanya Puja, and engage in various types of puja to please the Goddess.
This year, Navratri starts on 15th October. If you are planning to visit different temples to seek blessings and see different forms of Goddess Durga, then you can consider visiting Rajasthan. There are five world-famous temples where you can get a glimpse of different forms of Durga.
Kaila Devi Temple
Located in Karauli, Rajasthan, Kaila Devi Temple is widely revered. It was established by Raja Bhompal Singh in the 16th century. There are two idols of the goddess in the temple, one of which is the main Kaila Devi with a slant face. According to beliefs, it is Yogamaya, sister of Shri Krishna, who defeated the demon Narakasura.
Shakambhari Mata Temple
Located near Sambhar Lake, 95 km from Jaipur, Shakambhari Mata Temple is famous for the annual production of thousands of tons of salt from the lake. Legend has it that the goddess, through her curse, converted the immense wealth into salt, which led to the formation of Sambhar Lake. Shakambhari Mata is the clan goddess of the Chauhan dynasty, but devotees from different backgrounds come here to worship her.

Tripura Sundari Mata Temple
The eighteen-armed temple of Tripura Sundari Mata is located in Banswara, Rajasthan. The black stone idols in the temple are believed to have been installed before the reign of Emperor Kanishka. Each of the eighteen arms of the goddess holds divine weapons. The temple also has idols of Navadurga and sixty-four Yoginis.
Karni Mata Temple
Karni Mata Temple is located near Bikaner in Rajasthan. It is famous for its population of around 20,000 black rats, which are considered sacred. White rats are also present in the temple and their sighting is considered auspicious. Devotees believe that a glimpse of Karni Mata fulfills all their wishes. During Navratri, people from far and wide come to the temple for darshan.

Tanot Mata Temple
Located in Tanot village near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, Tanot Mata Temple is located very close to the India-Pakistan border. It is believed that during the India-Pakistan war of 1971, several bombs were dropped on Tanot village, but none of them exploded, not even a single bomb exploded in the temple complex.
