Udai Sagar Lake
Located at a distance of about 13 kilometers east of Udaipur, Udai Sagar Lake is one of the five unique lakes of Udaipur. Whose construction was started in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh. The lake is the result of a dam being built on the Berach River to supply sufficient water to the Maharana's kingdom. Let us tell you that the length of Udai Sagar Lake is 4 kilometers, its width is 2.5 kilometers and its depth is 9 meters, which has become a popular place for tourists visiting Udaipur.
Man Sagar Lake
Man Sagar Lake, which enhances the beauty of the hills of Nahargarh, is an artificial lake. Built in the middle of this lake is the historical Jal Mahal, which is very beautiful to see. Boating is not allowed on the lake here. However, there is a lot of space on its embankment, where you can get photography done. As the evening starts to fall, fast food and chaat shops start getting decorated here. Handicrafts and traditional costumes start selling. You can call it a fair held every evening.
Pichola Lake
Pichola Lake is one of the most famous lakes in Rajasthan. There are two islands in this lake and palaces are built on both. Where one is Jag Niwas, which has now become Lake Palace Hotel and the other is Jag Mandir. You can reach these palaces by boat. Along with this, the view of the Aravalli hills is captivating and you can enjoy the view of the magnificent City Palace here. This is one of the oldest and largest lakes in the city and a large number of tourists visit here every year.
Anasagar Lake
This lake located in the middle of Ajmer city was built by Aniraj, son of Ajayraj (Anaji, grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan) in 1137 AD. Jayank has written in his book Prithviraj Vijay that "Anasagar lake was built to purify Ajmer from the blood of Turks" because, in this victory, the immense blood of Turks was shed. Being situated in the middle of the mountains, this lake presents a very picturesque view, so the Mughal ruler Jahangir built the palace of Noor Jahan (Ruthi Rani) near it. Daulat Bagh was built which is currently called Subhash Udyan. In this garden, Noor Jahan's mother Asmat Begum invented rose perfume. Jahangir built the Chashma-e-Noor waterfall on its banks. Shah Jahan built five Barhadri in this garden.
Didwana Lake
This lake is located in Didwana in Nagaur district. This lake is located 65 km away from Sambhar Lake in the north-west. The length of this lake is 4 km and the width is 3 to 12 km. Salt is prepared from this lake throughout the year but the salt here is not of the best quality, due to which this salt is used in normal food. It is not used, it is used in the leather and dyeing industry. A sodium sulfate plant has been established 8 km away from Didwana town. The salt obtained from this lake is consumed in Bikaner and Jodhpur districts.
Dudh Talai Lake
Situated between small wonderful hills, Dudh Talai Lake is an attractive tourist destination of Udaipur. Surrounded by wonderful hills on all sides, this lake organizes attractive activities of camel and horse riding which remains a center of attraction for tourists. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park and Manikya Lal Verma Garden are also part of Dudh Talai Lake where Manikya Lal Verma Garden, Pichola Lake, and Dudh Talai Lake offer amazing views to tourists. Apart from this, the holy temple of Karni Mata is also located on the hill on which the milky white idol of Mata Karni is installed.
Gadisar Lake
According to the information, this lake was excavated in the 14th century by Maharaja Gaddi Singh. The lake was named Gadisar Lake after him. Surrounded by historical monuments, this lake looks very beautiful. The view here becomes even more beautiful during the monsoon. At one time this lake used to be the main water source of Jaisalmer. Today it is one of the most favorite attractions of the city. A large number of tourists and locals come here to visit.
Pushkar Lake
This lake located in Pushkar is considered a holy lake in Hindu scriptures. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that this lake was formed by a lotus petal that fell from the hands of Lord Brahma. This lake is surrounded by 300 temples and has 52 ghats. It is not only a tourist destination, but its water is also considered medicinal which can cure all skin problems. It is also said that those who bathe in this lake attain salvation.
Jaisamand Lake
This lake is also known as Dhebar Lake. This lake is located 50 km southeast of Udaipur city. It was built by Raja Jai Singh in 1685-1691 by building a dam on the Gomti River. This dam is 375 meters long and 35 meters high. This lake is about 15 km long and 8 km wide. There are about seven islands in this lake. On which people of Bhil and Meena caste live. The name of the largest island is 'Baba Ka Bhangra' and the name of the smallest island is 'Pyari'. There are 6 artistic chhatriyas and palaces built in this lake which are very beautiful. This lake is surrounded by hills. This lake is located in a calm and picturesque environment. The natural beauty of this lake is captivating which is the main center of attraction for tourists. This lake is the largest freshwater lake in Rajasthan. Two canals have been taken out from this lake for irrigation, whose names are Shyampura and Bhat canals.
Siliserh Lake
Spread over an area of 7 km, Siliserh Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Rajasthan and a popular place in Alwar. Earlier, Siliserh Lake was built in 1845 to supply water to the city of Alwar, the credit for its establishment goes to Maharaja Vinay Khan. This lake has a magnificent lake palace. Which was considered to be the favorite of the Maharaja. Situated at a distance of about 13 km from Alwar city, Siliserh Lake is a popular picnic spot for tourists.
