She sought permission from Lord Shiva to go there, but Lord Shiva refused to allow her to go there, but Mother Sati's repeated requests On doing this Lord Shiva let him go. When she reached the yagya uninvited, her father Daksha said very bad things to her and at the same time said very bad things about Lord Shiva, which mother Sati could not bear and she gave her life by jumping into the fire of the same yagya. Seeing this, Lord Shiva got very angry and he lifted the burnt body of Mata Sati from the fire pit and started doing tandav all around, due to which there was a hue and cry in the whole universe. Seeing this, people ran to Lord Vishnu, then Lord Vishnu cut the body of Mata Sati into 51 pieces with his Sudarshan Chakra, wherever these pieces fell, they became Shakti Peeths. It is believed that the feet of Mata had fallen here, which is known as Chintpurni Mata.

According to mythology, it is said that once a pundit was going to his in-law's house after being troubled by poverty. After getting dark on the way, they took a rest under a banyan tree. That's why the mother appeared to that pundit in the form of a small girl in the dream. After waking up, that pundit could not see anything, so he left for his in-law's house in the morning.
