Kaziranga National Park is one of the pride of India. It is located in Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam state. It is the world's largest habitat for one-horned rhinoceros. About 2200 one-horned rhinoceros live here. Apart from this, a large number of Bengal tigers also live here, due to which Kaziranga National Park is also called Tiger Reserve.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Kaziranga National Park on the 8th and 9th of March. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will rest in Kaziranga on the night of March 8. On the morning of March 9, he will visit Kaziranga National Park for the first time as Prime Minister. This is the first time that a Prime Minister has visited Kaziranga. His visit will further increase the fame of Kaziranga and will also promote tourism. Apart from this, he will also address a public meeting in Jorhat and then leave for West Bengal.

How to reach Kaziranga National Park?
By Air: The two nearest airports to Kaziranga are Guwahati International Airport and Jorhat Airport. These are located at a distance of 217 km and 97 km respectively. There are good roads connecting both the airports to the park. The popular Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport located in Guwahati is the best option for coming from foreign countries or any corner of India. You can hire a cab or taxi directly from the airport to go to the park. Alternatively, you can go to Paltan Bazar Bus Stand, which is about 23 km from the airport. From there you can reach the park by taking a government or private bus, which will be cheaper than going directly by cab or taxi.

By Rail: The nearest railway station to Kaziranga Park is Furkating Junction, located 75 km from the park. The station is well connected by many trains to major railway stations like Guwahati, Kolkata, and New Delhi. Travelers can also use the other nearest railway stations Guwahati Railway Station and Jorhat Railway Station, located at a distance of 240 km and 90 km respectively. Both these stations are major railway stations of North Eastern Railway. From the stations, you can reach the park by taking a taxi, cab, or bus service.

By Road: The main gate of Kaziranga Park is located in Kohora town on National Highway 37. Due to this Kohora is connected to all the major cities of Assam like Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dimapur, Tinsukia, Sivasagar etc. by state transport buses or private buses and minibuses. There are also local transport services connecting Kohora to other small towns nearby. The nearest major cities like Guwahati and Jorhat are connected to other parts of the country by air, rail, and road. You can travel to these cities and then hire a cab/taxi or take public buses to reach the park easily.
