When it comes to places to visit in Gujarat, there is no dearth of places to visit here. But the devotees of Mata especially go to Gujarat to visit the Ambaji temple. This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of the country. Arasuri Ambaji Temple has mythological significance. The most important thing is that there is no idol in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple. It is said about this place that the mundane ceremony of Lord Krishna was performed here. It is one of the famous pilgrimage places of India. Ambaji Mata Temple is a major Shakti Peeth of India. It is located about 65 km from Palanpur, 45 km from Mount Abu and 20 km from Abu Road, and 185 km from Ahmedabad, near Gujarat and Rajasthan border.

Mother Sati's heart had fallen at the place where the temple was built.
It is said about this temple that the heart of Maa Sati had fallen at the place where this Shaktipeeth is situated. Because of this, it is counted among the sacred Shaktipeeths. This temple is very ancient and devotees come here from every corner of the country. This temple was built by Vallabhi ruler Suryavansh Samrat Arun Sen in the 4th century. This temple has been renovated from time to time. This temple of Maa holds great importance for the worshipers of Shakti. There is a cave in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple, where there is no idol of the mother, but a golden Sriyantra has been installed here, this Sriyantra is worshiped here. No one can see the Sriyantra installed in this temple with the naked eye. A fair is organized here on the full moon day. A golden urn weighing 3 tons is installed on the summit of this 103 feet high temple. One has to climb 999 steps to reach this temple of Maa.

Kund is considered very sacred
The journey of devotees visiting Ambaji temple is not limited to the temple only. A little distance from the Ambaji temple, there is a pool, taking a dip which is considered very sacred. People call this pool Mansarovar and taking a dip here has its spiritual significance.

Made of white marble
Ambaji Temple is also beautiful to see because it is made of white marble. This temple is very grand and its peak is one hundred and three feet high.

A different view is seen in Navratri
There is an influx of devotees throughout the year in the Ambaji temple, but there is a different atmosphere here during Navratri. For nine days of Navratri, the devotees worship the mother with full devotion. Not only this, dances like Bhavai and Garba are organized on the temple premises on this special occasion. Along with this, Saptshati is also recited.

Places to visit around Ambaji Temple
Mansarovar

Behind the main temple of Ambaji is the holy lake called Manasarovar. It was built by a devotee named Shri Tapishankar. Who used to be the original residents of Ahmedabad. The period of construction of this lake is said to be between 1584 to 1594. There is a temple of Mahadev on one side and Ajay Devi's temple on the other side on the two sides of the lake. It is said about Ajay Devi that she is the sister of Mata Rani. My devotees take holy baths in Mansarovar. An inscription from the time of King Maldev is present in the temple, which is said to be from the year of Samvat year 1415. It is an ancient monument of writing and old scripts.

Kumbariya
A place named Kumbariya is located at a distance of one and a half kilometers from Ambaji temple. Kumbhariya is a village of religious and historical importance in Banaskantha district. Jain temples are built here. Its archeological, historical, and cultural heritage is worth seeing. It houses the Jain temple of Lord Shri Neminath dating back to the 13th century.

Gabbar Hills
Ambaji Gabbar Hills is situated close to the temple. To reach Gabbar Hills, you have to climb 999 steps. It means to say that the distance from Ambaji to Gabbar Hills is about one and a half kilometers. The Ambaji Gabbar Jyot is always lit on this hill.

Kamakshi Mata Temple
Kamakshi Mata's temple is located just 1 km away from Mata Amba's temple. The one who is seen demonstrating the 51 Shaktipeeths of Hindus.

Koteshwar
A small village named Koteshwar, near Ambaji, is very famous for its religious importance. Narayan Sarovar and the ancient Shiva temple are worth seeing in it. According to mythology in Hindu culture, it is one of the five holy rivers. The site is famous for the sunset and the view of the sea from the area.

Kailash Hill Sunset
Kailash hill i.e. Kailash Tekri is present at a distance of about two kilometers from Ambaji temple. On which a very beautiful and picturesque pagoda is present. The artistic gate of Lord Shiva's temple can be seen on this hill.

Golden dome
Devotees keep donating to the Ambaji temple. Many people even donate gold and silver to it. For its use, the trust decided to inlay the Ambaji temple with gold, and on January 25, 2019, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani inaugurated Ambaji's golden dome. Before that, 140 kg of gold has been used first. A builder named Mukesh Patel of Gandhinagar donated 25 kg of gold in 2012 and till now 1580 devotees have donated gold. Ambaji temple is going to be completely studded with gold, so far only half has been studded with gold, but in no time the whole temple will be beautified with gold.
