The beautiful Malshej Ghat in every season attracts nature lovers, trekkers, and adventure tourism lovers alike. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, after a journey of only three and a half hours, finding oneself in the lap of nature full of matchless beauty seems to be a curious surprise, but this is the specialty of Malshej Ghat. After covering half the distance from Mumbai, you reach here taking a view of small waterfalls, waterfalls, green fields, mountain ranges, farms of black grapes, bananas, etc., beautiful forests and lakes, etc.

This is such a hill station, where you go in any season, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of nature and will be lost in its beauty. But in monsoon, the beauty of this place is created by seeing, the clouds will seem to be walking with you.

The famous Malshej Ghat is situated in the Western Ghats range of the Pune district of Maharashtra. Malshej, situated at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, is a very attractive mountain tourist destination, which attracts nature lovers, hikers, trekkers, and historians alike, apart from ordinary tourists. After a weekend or two-three day trip, you will feel refreshed for several months.

The guest house of the Maharashtra Tourism Department at the highest point is also a great place to stay at Malshej Ghat. You can enjoy the beauty of mountains and valleys while roaming the premises of the guest house. There are many hill points behind the complex, such as Konkan, Water Rivers Point, Harishchandra Point, Kalu Eye Point, Malshej Point, etc. and there is a dense forest behind it. From here, the deep valleys below and the beauty of many waterfalls can be seen from May to September.

The Bhima river flows in and around Malshej Ghat. Seeing white and orange flamingos in and around the lakes here is a unique experience, which is rare elsewhere. Similarly, many other beautiful migratory birds come here to enjoy nature. The Malshej Ghat is the oldest route connecting the Konkan and Deccan plateaus, so it is believed that Buddhist monks built cave temples at Lenyadri, a short distance away.

Shivneri

Shivneri has a special place not only in Maharashtra but also in the history of India because it is the birthplace of Maharaj Shivaji. Harishchandragad has its important in terms of trekking. It is also a very long and difficult track, so it would be better if you do not do trekking here in summer. Khireshwar village is considered a suitable base for trekking here. Apart from this, pachanai and kothale can also be made as a base.

Jeevdhan

Jeevdhan is also a difficult trekking route. Nainaghat was a major trade route in ancient times and forts were built here for security. This area was secured from Jeevdhan, Hadsar, Mahishgarh, and Chavand. Jeevdhan is also famous because of Vandarlingi.

Pipalgaon Jog Dam

In this delightful place, one gets a chance to see various beautiful migratory birds. This place, equipped with the Dhaval river and dense forest, is excellent for bird lovers.
