Often people get confused between the names of Kedar Kantha and Kedarnath, so let us tell you at the outset that both are different things. Kedar Kantha is a Trek, and Kedarnath is a very famous temple in Uttarakhand, both are different places.

The height of the Kedar Kantha trek is 12,500 feet and it is probably impossible to describe in words what happens after reaching such a height. One can get an unforgettable view of the sunrise from the summit.

This trek starts from Sankri village in Uttarakhand, for which you will have to reach Dehradun first. The distance from Dehradun to Sankri village is 196 kms which will take you 10 to 11 hours.
Before entering Sankri a Forest Permit is required which you can easily get by showing a government authorized ID proof.
After Sankri, Kedarkantha is at a distance of 11 kms. Judatal is at a distance of four kilometers from Sankri. Talkhetra is three kilometers away from Judatal and Kedarkantha top is four kilometers away from Talkhetra.
The Kedarkantha trek is a total length of 18 kilometers and may take you 4-5 days to complete, the difficulty level of the Kedarkantha trek is considered to be moderate. If you do not have any kind of serious physical problem then you can complete this track very easily.
