He succeeded his uncle Muhammad bin Tughlaq. During his 37-year rule, he built many palaces. One of them is Firoz Shah Kotla. People now consider this place as a place where their wishes will be fulfilled.

Every Thursday people come here with candles and incense sticks, along with a letter in which they have written their wishes. They believe that there is a genie here who will fulfil their wishes.

The rumour of a jinn living at this place started around 1977. It was at that time that a saint Laddu Shah started living there. He chose only Thursday to stay there.

After staying there, he used to say among the people that there is a genie in this fort, who comes on Thursdays.

Here some people also bring milk and food as Prasad. Some people come here, who, showing intelligence, make photocopies of their letters and keep them at different places so that the Jinn does not forget to read their letters. People say that the wishes they wrote to the genie was in the letter get fulfilled.

Is Firoz Shah Kotla haunted?

Haunted does not always mean ghosts, people believe that jinns live here and they do not want any outsider to trouble them after dark. Local people say that visiting this place after dark can anger the jinns and the consequences can be dangerous. That's why people don't go here.
