The former Indian captain has urged the media not to consult foreign commentators on which player should be selected or not in Team India. He is loyal to his country, and in such a situation he can advise picking such a player who is not needed.
Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his column in Mid-Day that Team India has suffered the brunt of wrong advice from foreign commentators in the World Cup. A new player was selected in place of a great player. He hardly featured in the playing 11 in any match. However, the former Team India opener did not name the two players, but perhaps he was referring to Ambati Rayudu and Vijay Shankar.
