Babar Azam says that the Pakistan team has thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful hospitality received in India for the World Cup 2023. Lahore-born Babar talked about the same at Captain's Day in Ahmedabad.
Last month, Pakistan reached Hyderabad amid tight security and fans were seen cheering for their favorite cricketers. Babur was so impressed by the hospitality and hospitality he received in India that he felt as if he was at home.
Babar said- "We got good hospitality, and we were not expecting it, but I think the way people reacted to us, everyone enjoyed it. We are here in Hyderabad for a week, So we don't feel like we are in India; it feels like we are at home. We enjoyed and had a lot of fun. I think it is important for everyone to give 100% and enjoy the tournament. There is a golden opportunity."
Pakistan has played two practice matches against New Zealand and Australia, although it lost both times.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan said now is the time for his team to show what it is capable of. The Tigers, who once topped the ICC World Cup Super League points table, were one of the eight teams to qualify directly for the mega event.
He said- “I think we have prepared well. If we talk about the last four years since the 2019 World Cup, we are probably the third or fourth team in the qualifier points system. So, we have performed really well as a group; Now the time has come for us to perform well. Our team is ready and the country expects something more than what we have done before.”
Bangladesh is set to take on Hashmatullah Shahidi's Afghanistan in the opening match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala on Friday, October 6.
