Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has said that both James Anderson and Stuart Broad will be given a chance in the Ashes series next summer when England takes on Australia. Anderson and Broad will turn 41 and 37 respectively next summer season, but England's Test coach McCullum has confirmed he wants the pair to play in the Ashes series in June.
The duo has taken 56 Test wickets since being controversially dropped for England's tour of the West Indies in March. Based on these, the England team has won 6 out of seven matches at home since 2004. According to Telegraph Cricket, McCullum was asked whether the two would play in the Ashes series next year. To this, he replied, "He will be there. He is enjoying the game and he is a great cricketer."
He also added, "I enjoyed working with both of them, trying to make sure they enjoy the game every day. It's a good captain too. They both have remarkable performances this season. and Jimmy was phenomenal throughout the season. The way Brody has stepped into and adapted to the new role and the way he has performed is also a sign of a big player."
