Virender Sehwag made his debut for India in 1999 and played international cricket for 15 years. During this, from opening the innings with Sachin Tendulkar to playing under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he shared the dressing room of Team India with many legends. Outside the Indian team, Sehwag also shared the dressing room with some of the world's greatest players in the Indian Premier League. He was first the captain of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and then Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).

Sehwag was the captain of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the second season of IPL i.e. 2009. He told an interesting anecdote related to David Warner as the captain of this team. Warner was playing IPL for the first time and was part of the Delhi team. But keeping him in discipline was a very difficult challenge. Sehwag told how in those days it was difficult for him to manage Warner as a captain. Because he used to clash with the players even in the dressing room. Due to Warner's behavior, the team management was forced to send him back.

Warner used to party more than practice: Sehwag

Sehwag said in a conversation with Cricbuzz, “I have also vented my anger on many players and David Warner was one of them. Because, when he was new to the team, more emphasis was on partying than on practicing or playing matches. The very first year, he got into fights with many players, so we dropped him from the last two matches. Sometimes it happens that you do something to teach a lesson to someone. He was new, so it was necessary to show him that he alone is not necessary for the team, the rest of the players are also important. Many other players can play and win matches for the team and that's what happened. We kept Warner out of the team and we won."

Warner Delhi Capitals' top scorer

Last year, Warner was controversially dropped from the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad and was also dropped from Playing XI. Whereas Hyderabad won the IPL title in 2016 under his captaincy. In the mega auction held in February this year, this Australian batsman was added by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.5 crore. This bet of Delhi seems to be working. Warner has scored 356 runs in 8 matches played this season. This includes 4 half-centuries and he is in fourth place in terms of scoring the most runs this season.
