Vijay Shankar, who once became the main all-rounder of Team India, has suddenly disappeared from the team. Sometimes due to injury and sometimes due to being ignored by the selectors, Vijay Shankar's career is stuck in limbo.

It's not that Vijay Shankar doesn't have talent, it's just that he hasn't gotten proper opportunities. If Shankar had gotten opportunities, he too could have become a key player for Team India like Hardik Pandya.

Took a wicket on his first ball in World Cup, and has represented Team India in ODIs and T20Is

Vijay Shankar made a name for himself in 2014 when he was part of the Tamil Nadu domestic team. He played some amazing innings in Ranji which included two centuries and two half-centuries. After which he got a call up from India A.

Similarly, doing well in domestic and IPL, he got a place in the national team of Team India in 2018. In ODI, he had made so much recognition in a short time that he got a place in the Indian World Cup team as well.

Shankar, who made his ODI debut in 2019, made his dream World Cup debut in the same year by taking a wicket on the very first ball of his World Cup debut. In 2019 itself, Shankar scored 223 runs in 12 matches at an average of 31 and took 4 wickets. Not only this, but he also played 9 T20Is for India in which he scored 101 runs at a strike rate of 139 and took 5 wickets.

Vijay Shankar has been searching for a place on the team for the last 3 years.

But now this all-rounder player is searching for his place in the national team for the last 3 years. One, the return of Hardik Pandya as well as having better bowling all-rounders like Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur has made their problems bigger.

It is expected that Shankar can once again make his place in Team India by returning to some domestic cricket playing form.
