Veteran New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has announced his retirement from international cricket.

He made the announcement in a post on his official Twitter account. Ross Taylor has announced his retirement from international cricket following a two-Test series against Bangladesh and a one-day series against Australia and the Netherlands.

Ross Taylor had long been impressed with his batting prowess while representing the New Zealand team. He has scored 7,584 runs in 110 Tests and 8,581 runs in 233 ODIs. Ross Taylor has scored 19 centuries and 35 fifties in Tests and 21 centuries and 51 fifties in ODIs. He has also scored 1909 runs in 102 T20 matches representing New Zealand.

Announcing his retirement, Ross Taylor said: "I will retire from international cricket after the two Tests against Bangladesh, the six ODIs against Australia and the Netherlands. Thank you for your beautiful 17 year cricket career. It is an honor to represent our country.
