Taking a hat-trick in T20 and ODI cricket is not a difficult task. But in Test cricket, the batsmen play tight and try to keep their wickets. In such a situation, it becomes very difficult for bowlers to take hat tricks in Test cricket. Although many players have taken many hat-tricks in Tests as well. But there is a player who has achieved the feat of taking 2 hat-tricks in Test cricket in a single day and has made a world record. This record of his has not been broken till date and probably in future also no bowler will be able to break his record.

The player we are talking about is none other than the Australian bowler Jimmy Matthews, who did this amazing feat in 1912. In 1912, England went for the triangular series between South Africa and Australia. Meanwhile, in the first match, the teams of Australia and South Africa were face to face. This match was played on the ground in Manchester. Batting first, Australia's team scored 448 runs. On the second day of this match, that feat happened and till date, no one has been able to break it.

When the South African team came out to bat, Australia's bowlers did a wonderful job in the first innings. At one time South African batsman Aubrey Faulkner was batting with the tail batsmen. At that time Jimmy Mathews came to bowl and he showed the way to the pavilion to two set batsmen and a tail-ender batsman in three consecutive balls and registered a hat-trick to his name. On the same day Jimmy Mathews registered a world record by taking the second hat-trick.
