There are only a few days left for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. Teams like Australia, India, and England have announced their 15-man squad for this tournament. In the same sequence, two-time T20 World Cup champion West Indies also announced its World Cup squad on Wednesday (14 September). However, many big names have not got a place on this team.

The board has not selected players like star all-rounder Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in the World Cup squad. However, the return of star opener Evin Lewis was among the 15 players selected by the West Indies for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022. Lewis has returned to the team for the first time since the 2021 World Cup. The team also has two uncapped players in Yannick Caria and Ramon Reifer.

West Indies will play Zimbabwe in their first match in the first round of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 against Zimbabwe on 19 October. Scotland and Ireland are the other teams in the West Indies group. The top two teams from Group B will qualify for the Super-12. Before the World Cup, the West Indies team will play against Australia in a two-match bilateral T20I series on 5 October and 7 October.
