England has announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, starting October 16 in Australia. The team's fast bowler Jofra Archer has not got a place. He has been out of the team for a long time due to an injury. Jason Roy, who has been performing poorly in his national team and The Hundred, is not part of the 15-man squad. England has picked Phil Salt, who made his T20I debut earlier this year. Since the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE, Roy has played in 11 T20Is, scoring 206 runs.

Salt's selection is a reward for his strong home form in the ongoing tournament, The Hundred. He has scored 313 runs in eight matches at an average of 44.71 and is second in the list of highest run scorers in the tournament. England captain Jos Buttler will be seen leading the team for the first time in a global tournament. After Eoin Morgan's retirement from international cricket, he has been made the limited-overs captain of the team.

Buttler has been ruled out of the upcoming tour of Pakistan due to injury. He will be replaced by Moeen Ali for England's tour of Pakistan, where they will play a seven-match T20I series. England is confident that Buttler will regain fitness in the last leg of the series against Pakistan.

David Malan also made a comeback after doing well in England's recent series against South Africa. The left-hander has a strike rate of 148.27 in T20Is this year and will replace Morgan. Malan is the highest run-scorer in The Hundred with 358 runs. The ECB has confirmed that fast bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have recovered from their respective injuries and have been named in the 15-man World Cup squad.

The team will be aiming to win the title by forgetting last year's T20 World Cup performance. The England team will start their campaign against Afghanistan in Perth on 22 October 2022. England has selected a 19-man squad, which includes five uncapped players, for the tour of Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup. Jordan Cox, Tom Helm, Will Jack, Ollie Stone, and Luke Wood have got their chance. His team for the Australia series is the same as the one he has picked for the T20 World Cup.
