Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has not been able to perform well with the bat for some time now. Cricket lovers keep expressing their opinion about this on social media. Now former captain and one of the great batsmen Sunil Gavaskar has said that Pant must be getting scolded even in the dressing room. Gavaskar feels that Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid must have told Rishabh Pant because of the kind of shots he is getting out playing, even cricket lovers are disappointed.

Rishabh Pant could play only 3 balls in the second test match (IND vs SA 2nd Test) against South Africa in Johannesburg and returned to the pavilion without opening the account. In the first innings of this match too, Pant was able to score only 17 runs. When Pant was dismissed in the second innings, India was struggling as the responsibility rested on him after the dismissals of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. In such a situation, Pant played an irresponsible shot and he was out. Due to this, the score became 167 runs for 5 wickets.

Sunil Gavaskar said that Pant has done this in the past as well. He said in a discussion on Star Sports, 'It is a good question. If Rishabh Pant had scored 30-40 runs, then his shot like this can be understood. This is something he did not do in Australia. There he showed restraint. Admittedly, there will be a difficult time in the beginning, when you come to bat and after battling with the tough times when you get to set, then you know how the pitch is. After that, he played big shots. That's what he did in Australia.

He said, 'It is something that we saw at the beginning of the series against England. When the England team came to India, he was trying to get good shots off James Anderson's balls, but after that… he feels that this is the only way to play. This is not the way to play and I am sure Rahul Dravid must have told him in the dressing room or as it is said in cricket, Dravid must have thrashed him with a stick.
