By Jitendra Jangid- The game played for fun 147 years ago in England has gained a lot of popularity all over the world today, yes we are talking about cricket, which is no less than a festival, its thrill is increasing day by day among the people. Cricket is called a gentleman's game due to its rules and its rules keep changing according to the needs, if we talk about recently, then in the ICC meeting held recently in Dubai under the chairmanship of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, three notable suggestions have come up with the aim of improving both Test and ODI formats, let's know the full details about them
Three-Test series mandatory for WTC: To strengthen the position of Test cricket, the ICC has proposed that each team should participate in at least three Test matches for each WTC series. The aim of this rule is to create a more balanced competition and encourage wider participation.
Promoting Day-Night Tests: The ICC is also focusing on popularising day-night Test matches. The initiative is inspired by the success of the pink ball Tests, which have received a good response in various countries. Australia regularly hosts a day-night Test during its home season, with the aim being to increase the frequency of these matches, making them a major part of international cricket.
New ball strategy for ODIs: To increase the excitement in one-day internationals, the committee has suggested using only two new balls in the first 25 overs of an innings. After that, a single ball will be used for the remainder of the match.
