Many organs of Siddharth Sharma's body had stopped working (multiple organ failure). Medium pacer Siddharth Sharma was admitted to the hospital on 2 January 2023, a day before Himachal Pradesh's Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. Siddharth then complained of not being able to urinate for two days. On the other hand, the body of Odisha's woman cricketer Rajshree Swain was found hanging from a tree in a dense forest near Cuttack on Friday.

Rajshree Swain was missing since January 11. Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police Pinak Mishra said Rajshree Swain's body was found hanging from a tree in the Gurdijatiya forest in the Athagarh area. Rajshree's coach lodged a missing complaint on Thursday, 12 January 2023, at the Mangalabagh police station in Cuttack.

The family accused of killing Rajshree Swain

Pinak Mishra said a case of unnatural death will be registered at the Gurdijatia police station. The police are yet to ascertain the cause of Rajshree Swain's death. However, Rajshree's family has alleged that she was murdered, as there were injury marks on her body. Rajshree's eyes were also damaged.

Rajshree Swain's scooter was found near the forest, the mobile phone was also switched off

According to the police, Rajshree's scooter was found near the forest and her mobile phone was also switched off. Police said that the matter will be investigated from all aspects. Rajshree's family members said around 25 women cricketers, including Rajshree, were part of the training camp organized by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in Bajrakabati area. This training camp was for a national-level cricket tournament to be held in Puducherry.

All the cricketers selected for the camp were staying in a hotel. The Odisha state women's cricket team was announced on 10 January, but Rajshree was not included in the final list. Police said the next day the players went to the cricket ground in Tangi area for practice, but Rajshree told her coach that she was going to Puri to meet her father.

Siddharth Sharma was part of the team that won the Vijay Hazare Trophy

A senior official of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has confirmed the death of Siddharth Sharma. Siddharth Sharma, 28, was a member of the Himachal team that won the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2021-22. Siddharth played 6 first class, 6 List A, and one T20 match. In this, he took a total of 33 wickets.

Siddharth Sharma's condition did not improve in the hospital

HPCA secretary Avneesh Parmar said, “Everyone in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association is in mourning. Siddharth left us on Thursday. He was on a ventilator for the last few days. He was in the team in the last match (against Baroda) in Vadodara for the Ranji Trophy. He said, 'Before the match, he started vomiting and had trouble urinating. He was taken to the hospital where his condition deteriorated.

Siddharth's family consists of a mother, father, and brother who lives abroad. Siddhartha was cremated after his brother returned from Canada. Siddharth took five wickets in an inning and seven wickets in total in the match against Bengal at Eden Gardens from 20 to 23 December.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur expressed condolences.
