Batsman Sachin Tendulkar feels Jasprit Bumrah's absence is a big setback for India in the 2022 T20 World Cup but Mohammed Shami can make up for his lack with his pace and skill. Bumrah has been out of cricket indefinitely due to back pain. In his place, Shami has been included in the World Cup squad, who has not played a T20 International since the last World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The 32-year-old Amroha bowler, however, handled the ball in the 20th over in the warm-up match against Australia on Monday and took three wickets to help India win by six runs.

Sachin Tendulkar said in an interview with the news agency PTI, "Bumrah's absence is a big loss because we definitely need a strike bowler. A genuine fast bowler who can dominate the batsmen and take wickets. Shami has proved it and he seems like an ideal choice.

Arshdeep Singh impresses the 'God of Cricket'

The veteran batsman seems to be heavily influenced by young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh who has done well in international cricket so far.

Sachin Tendulkar, who is known as the 'God of Cricket, said, "Arshdeep has raised a lot of expectations and he seems to be a balanced bowler. Whatever I saw in him I felt committed player because when you look at a player you see his mentality. What I like best is that if Arshdeep has a strategy, he sticks to it and that is very important in this format as the batsmen tend to be loose and play some new shots. So if you have a strategy, then follow it completely.

It is important to keep this in mind while including a spinner in the playing XI

India has to play their matches in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth where the boundary line is very large. Tendulkar feels the size of the field should be kept in mind while selecting spinners in the playing XI. He said, "You mostly play in the direction where the ball is turning, there are some batsmen who hit continuously against the turn. Usually, the captain decides what kind of spinner to keep in the playing XI by looking at the distance of the boundary line. You also keep in mind the wind direction while selecting the spinner.
