Pakistan captain Babar Azam is making one record to his name this year. Babar broke South Africa's legendary batsman Hashim Amla's world record against the Netherlands on Tuesday. Babar now holds the record for scoring the most runs in 88 innings of ODIs.The Pakistani captain played brilliant innings of 74 runs in the first ODI against the Netherlands.

Babar has now scored 4516 runs in 88 innings versus ODIs and has a strike rate of 59.42 during this period. At the same time, Amla had scored 4473 runs in exactly the same number of matches.

Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by 16 runs in the first ODI on the back of their bowlers after Fakhar Zaman (109), Babar Azam (74), and Shadab Khan (48 not out). After the win, Pakistan's team took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Batting first at the Hezlarweg Stadium in Rotterdam, Pakistan scored 314 for six in their stipulated 50 overs and then restricted the Netherlands team to 298 for 8 in 50 overs.

The Netherlands needed 42 runs in the last three overs to win, but the hosts could only manage 298 for 8 after playing full overs. Edwards scored 71 not out. Apart from him, Logan van Beek scored 28 runs. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took three wickets each while Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each.
