Star all-rounder Moeen Ali will be seen captaining the England T20 team on the upcoming tour of Pakistan. Moin, of Pakistani origin, will be seen commanding the T20 side in the absence of regular skipper Jos Buttler. Buttler was injured in the recent 'The Hundred' tournament and in such a situation, he is not sure about going to Pakistan. England will play a seven-match T20I series in Karachi and Lahore from September 20 to October 2 on the Pakistan tour. Senior all-rounder Moin has been part of the team that won the T20 World Cup last year and the World Cup for the first time in 2019.

According to a report in The Guardian, Buttler took over the captaincy of the England team in white ball cricket this year after Eoin Morgan's retirement and Moeen Ali will lead the England team on the tour of Pakistan after his injury. Moeen took retirement from Test cricket last year. England team will tour Pakistan for the first time in 17 years. The English team had earlier toured Pakistan for the last time in 2005.

The team was supposed to tour Pakistan last year, but it also canceled its tour after New Zealand canceled the tour due to security reasons. England team would like to strengthen their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup by playing the T20 series against Pakistan. After the seven-match T20 series, England will again tour Pakistan in December, where they have to play a three-match Test series.
