Cricket News: Limited overs Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not a part of the ongoing three-match Test series against South Africa. Due to a hamstring strain, Rohit is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Now a new update has come out regarding the injury of the Indian ODI and T20 captain. Rohit has cleared his first fitness test ahead of the announcement of the squad for the ODI series against South Africa. There are reports that Rohit can now join the team from the third Test match.

After being fit, Rohit can now join the team before the ODI series against South Africa from January 19. The ODI team can be announced in the next few days. Rohit is in NCA where he is recovering from an injury. Apart from Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are also doing rehabilitation at NCA.

Meanwhile, Rohit has posted a photo on his Instagram, in which he is seen in training mode. The limited-overs captain wrote in the caption along with the photo, 'Recovery mode.' Rohit was made the captain of the T20 and ODI team only last month. He is not yet a part of the ongoing Test series with South Africa. But in the ODI series, he can take over the command of the team. India has to play a three-match ODI series on the South Africa tour.
