The Lucknow Super Giants thrashed the Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in the IPL on Thursday thanks to the batting of Quantum Decock, Evan Lewis, skipper Lokesh Rahul and Ayush Badoni.

This was Chennai's second consecutive defeat this season. Lucknow won the match by a huge margin and secured their first victory of the tournament.

Chasing 211 for victory, Lucknow's innings got off to an aggressive start. Captain Lokesh Rahul and Quanton Decock opened the innings with 99 runs. Rahul was batting from afar. However, he missed the mark and was caught by Ambati Rayudu. He hit 40 off 26 balls with two fours and three sixes. Manish Pandey, who came after him, was clearly disappointed. Decock also completed his half-century in style. He recovered the team's innings with a valuable partnership with Evan Lewis. After the half-century, however, Decock was dismissed for 61 off 45 balls with the help of nine fours.

Lewis took Deepak Hooda by the hand and tried to save the innings. Hooda hit 13 runs off 1 four and 1 six, but was dismissed for a suicide shot. Ayush Badoni, who came after his dismissal, gave a good support to Lewis. The duo put on an unbroken 40-run stand for the fifth wicket to lead the team to victory. Lewis hit an unbeaten half-century off 23 balls with six fours and three sixes. Badoni once again proved his mettle by hitting 2 fours off 9 balls with an unbeaten 19 runs. Robin Uthappa, Shivam Dubey and Moin Ali helped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a 211-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants.

Lokesh Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad failed. He was dismissed for 1 off 4 balls in an attempt to score an unnecessary steal. Uthappa then partnered with Moin Ali for a half-century. At the same time, Uthappa, who hit a half-century, was dismissed. He hit 8 fours and 1 six off 27 balls in his 50-run innings.

Moin Ali returns to the team after completing the segregation period. He was bowled by Awesh Khan. He hit four fours and two sixes in 22 balls in his 35-run knock to give the team a century. Shivam Dubey then took Ambati Rayudu by the hand and batted aggressively in a half-century partnership. Rayudu returned for 27 runs. He hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in 20 balls.

Dubey, however, failed to complete the half-century. He was dismissed for 49 off 30 balls with five fours and two sixes. Skipper Ravindra Jadeja hit an aggressive 17 off 9 balls with three fours and put the team on a double century with former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni hit 2 fours and 1 six off 6 balls while scoring 16 not out. Chennai lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 210 runs. From Lucknow, Ravi Bishnoi, Andrew Tye and Awesh Khan took 2 wickets each.
