The big news is coming about IPL 2022. Vivo has withdrawn from the title sponsorship. In his place, Tata Group will be the title sponsor of IPL from next year. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has confirmed this in a conversation with the news agency.

IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has informed news agency PTI that from next year Tata will be the title sponsor of IPL. Tata will replace Chinese mobile company Vivo. In the IPL Governing Council meeting on Tuesday, Tata was made the title sponsor of the IPL.

VIVO had bought the IPL title sponsorship rights for 5 years in the year 2018 for Rs 2190 crores. Under the contract, Vivo was to pay Rs 440 crore every year to BCCI as title sponsorship. But the deepening of the border dispute between India and China in 2020 had an impact on this contract as well. After the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in Eastern Ladakh, an all-around protest against Chinese mobile companies started in the country.

The pressure on BCCI to cancel the deal with Vivo started increasing. After this, the Indian Cricket Board had to suspend the title deal with Vivo for a year due to heavy pressure. In his place was the Dream11 sponsor. However, last year Vivo returned as a title sponsor, and Vivo's contract as a title sponsor was till 2023. But it was clear from the sourness in the relations between the two countries that this deal would not last long and today the IPL's Governing Council also approved it.

A source close to the IPL's governing council told news agency ANI, "Yes, we are looking at Tata as the title sponsor ever since we got to know that VIVO wants to terminate the contract with BCCI. However, there were still 2 years left in the contract. In such a situation, Tata will be the main title sponsor of the IPL for the rest of the time.
