Former champion Sunrisers Hyderabad has removed head coach Tom Moody from his post after a disappointing season in IPL 2022. The franchise has now appointed veteran West Indies batsman Brian Lara as its head coach. Lara was earlier working as the mentor of the team. He will now take over the responsibility of the Sunrisers camp as the head coach.

SRH took to Twitter to announce the appointment of Lara as their head coach. Muttiah Muralitharan will now be Lara's assistant. Moody's tenure ended after IPL 2022 and the franchise has not extended it for the upcoming season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad wrote on Twitter, "As his tenure with us comes to an end. We would like to thank Tom for his contribution to SRH. It's been a wonderful journey over the years. We wish him our best for the future." Best wishes."

Sunrisers Hyderabad has won the IPL title only once in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner. However, SRH's performance in IPL 2022 was disappointing and under Tom Moody's guidance, the team won only six out of 14 matches and finished eighth in the points table.
