Defending IPL champion Hardik Pandya's team Gujarat Titans (GT) has traded New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson and Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the IPL 2023 season. This news has been officially confirmed on 13 November.

Ferguson was bought for 10 crores, 5 times more than the base price

Lockie Ferguson was bought by the Gujarat franchise in the mega player auction for ₹10 crores. Lockie Ferguson bowled the fastest ball of the season in that season. His ball speed was 157.3.

This year he took 12 wickets while his economy was less than 9. Lockie Ferguson was earlier a part of KKR. There he represented the team for two seasons. Where he had 21 wickets in 18 matches.

Gurbaz was associated with the Gujarat team after the withdrawal of Jason Rai's name

Rahmatullah Gurbaz, the Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman, was roped in by Gujarat Titans last year as a replacement for Jason Roy. He didn't get a chance to play a single match due to players like Wriddhiman Shah, Mathew War, and Shubman Gill already on the team.

Royal Challengers also traded Bendroff to Mumbai Indians

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore traded Australian bowler Jason Bendroff to Mumbai Indians. Some more trading may be seen in the coming days as the trading window closes on November 15.

Mini auction in Kochi on 23 December

A mini-auction is to be held in Kochi on 23rd December. In this, another Rs 5 crore will be added to the purse value of each franchisee. The one-day mini-auction will be held in Kochi on December 23.

All the franchisees will get an increase of Rs 5 crore in their purse. Also, apart from the remaining purse, the auction money of the traded players will also be added to the total purse money of the franchise. That is why this trading is being done by the franchisee.
