Former Indian captain Virat Kohli finally came late in the form. Kohli has given evidence of returning to form after scoring a half-century in international cricket after almost six months. He played an unbeaten half-century of 59 runs in the Asia Cup match against Hong Kong being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He had earlier scored 35 runs in 34 balls in India's first match against Pakistan. Kohli now completes his fifty against Hong Kong in 40 balls. During his innings, he scored an unbeaten 59 off 44 balls with the help of one four and three sixes.

Kohli has become the first player to score a fifty in the Asia Cup 2022. Overall, this was his second half-century in the Men's T20 Asia Cup. With this, Kohli has 31 50+ scores in T20I cricket. Indian captain Rohit Sharma also has 50+ scores 31 times in T20 International cricket. Apart from Kohli, Suryakumar played an unbeaten inning of 68 runs in 26 balls with the help of six fours and as many sixes.
