The first T20 International match of the three-match series between India and South Africa is to be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram today. Sanju Samson may not be a part of the squad for the series, but he has a big cutout outside the stadium. Ever since Team India arrived in Kerala, slogans are being raised in the name of Sanju Samson.
Samson has not been included in the squad for the T20 World Cup to be played in Australia from next month. Samson took charge of India A against New Zealand A and also performed well. India A won the three-match unofficial ODI series 3-0 under the captaincy of Samson.
Samson has played a total of seven ODIs and 16 T20 Internationals for India so far. He has a great record in domestic cricket, but he has not been able to prove himself in international cricket. Samson has scored a total of 296 runs in 16 T20 Internationals at an average of 21.14 and a strike rate of 135.15.
