Jasprit Bumrah is finding it very difficult to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah said on Friday that Bumrah suffered a back injury and is under the care of the BCCI medical team. The BCCI today confirmed that Mohammad Siraj has been included in the squad for the T20I series against South Africa as a replacement for the injured Bumrah.

If reports are to be believed, bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the South Africa T20 series as well as the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 due to a stress fracture in his back. An official of the Indian Cricket Board told PTI that Bumrah is suffering from a serious back pain problem (stress fracture) and may have to be out of the team for months. Amidst the ongoing news about Bumrah for the T20 World Cup, an old tweet of his is going viral on social media. Bumrah made this tweet when India defeated Sri Lanka in the third ODI and won the series with 2 matches remaining.

Jasprit Bumrah tweeted in August 2017 and wrote, "The comeback is always bigger than the failure/setback."

India is currently leading 1-0 in the three-match series against South Africa. They won the first match in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday by eight wickets. The second match will be played in Guwahati on October 2 and the third match will be played in Indore on October 4.
