India beat South Africa by 16 runs in the second T20I in Guwahati to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. With this, the Indian team has managed to beat South Africa for the first time in this format on home soil. Batting first, India had scored 237 runs on the board with the help of half-centuries from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav, during which Virat Kohli also played an unbeaten inning of 49 runs. Chasing the target, South Africa had a very disappointing start, but David Miller, who came to bat at No. 5, opened the threads of the Indian bowlers. Miller played an unbeaten knock of 106 runs in 47 balls with the help of 8 fours and 7 sixes, although he could not lead his team to victory. South Africa could only manage 221 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

When all the players were returning to the dugout after the end of the match, then Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli greeted David Miller with a hug. Rohit and Kohli also won the hearts of the fans with this gesture.

Talking about the records of this match David Miller has become the first player in the history of T20 cricket to score more than one century while batting at number 5 or below. He played an unbeaten inning of 101 runs off 36 balls against Bangladesh in 2017 before India.

At the same time, Miller has become only the second player in the world to score an unbeaten century while chasing the target in T20 cricket. Prior to him, this feat was done by the Indian team's vice-captain KL Rahul against West Indies in 2016.
