The first Test match between India and New Zealand in Kanpur has been drawn. Despite the hard work of the Indian bowlers, luck did not favor Team India and Ajinkya Rahane's victory was just one wicket away from this team. Ravindra Jadeja 4 and Ravichandran Ashwin did well but the defense of Rachin Ravindra and Ejaz Patel saved New Zealand from defeat.

Team India had a good chance to win the Kanpur Test but it was one wicket away from victory. Ejaz Patel and Rachin Ravindra held on for 52 balls and Team India missed out on the victory. Rachin Ravindra and Ejaz Patel were on the wicket and both defended brilliantly. Spin bowlers like Ashwin, Jadeja and Akshar Patel were easily played by both the batsmen. Left-hander Tom Latham from New Zealand scored a superb half-century. William Somerville also scored 36 and captain Kane Williams scored 24 off 112 balls.

The over could not be increased due to bad lighting and Kanpur Test match was declared a draw. The Indian team was one wicket away from victory. New Zealand debutant Rachin Ravindra scored an unbeaten 18 off 91 balls. No. 11 Ejaz Patel was also unbeaten on 23 balls and saved his team from defeat.

Declaring their innings at 234 yesterday, India gave the visiting Kiwis a target of 284 runs. In India, the foreign team has never chased more than 276 runs in the fourth innings. Also, Shreyas Iyer, who scored 170 runs in the match, was declared the Player of the Match.
