Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav has overtaken Pakistan captain Babar Azam to take the third spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings. Suryakumar scored 46 runs in the first T20 International against Australia in Mohali on Tuesday. India had to face defeat by four wickets in this match. Thanks to his innings, Surya also narrowed the gap between him and the top-ranking batsman Mohammad Rizwan. Suryakumar is now just 45 rating points behind Rizwan.

Rizwan scored a half-century during Pakistan's loss to England in Karachi on Tuesday and maintained his lead in the batting list with a career-best 825 points. South Africa's Aiden Markram (792 points) is in second place ahead of Suryakumar (780 points).

Babar has slipped to the fourth spot after not performing as expected in the Asia Cup and scoring just 31 runs in the first match of the series against England. England's David Malan (725) is fifth while Australia's captain Aaron Finch (715) is sixth. Apart from Suryakumar, star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has jumped 22 places to 65th position. He scored an unbeaten 65 in the first T20 against Australia.

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel has moved up 24 places to 33rd on the bowlers' list after taking three wickets on Tuesday. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood continues to top the bowlers' list after taking crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in the first T20I. South Africa's Tabrez Shamsi is second on the bowlers' list while leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who took two wickets against Pakistan, has moved up to the third spot.

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has gained four places to be at 21st position in the list of T20 International bowlers. His teammate Mohammad Nawaz has also moved up three places to the 31st position.
