The Indian women's cricket team won the three-match One Day International series against England 3-0 on Saturday (September 24). India won the last ODI by 16 runs and cleaned up the series. The way England's batsman Charlie Dean was run out by Deepti Mishra in this match, the controversy is not taking its name to end. Deepti had dismissed Charlie in Mankading style, after which questions were raised on India's sportsmanship. Deepti now clarified on this saying that she had first warned Charlie about this and only after that, she was given out in this way. Now former England captain Heather Knight has objected to this statement of Deepti.

Heather wrote on Twitter, 'Match is over, Dean Charlie has been legally dismissed. Team India deserved to win the match and series, but no warning was given. There was no need to even give a warning, as it does not make it any more valid.

Knight further wrote, 'But if he is comfortable with the decision that it was a runout, then India does not need to explain the matter by saying false things like warnings.'The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently changed its rules and brought Mankading out within the runout. When the batter is at the nonstriker's end and leaves the crease before the bowler releases the ball, and if the bowler hits the stumps, then the batter is considered out. Earlier it was considered against the spirit of sportsmanship, but now the ICC has made a very precise rule regarding this. Recently, Indian women's bowler Deepti Sharma had similarly dismissed England's, Charlie Dean.
